Starting in the Industry: Peter’s journey in the electric power industry began over 30 years ago when he landed a job at Pico Energy in Philadelphia. Starting in customer service, Peter quickly gained a deep understanding of what customers in the industry were looking for. His role at Pico allowed him to develop a strong foundation in the electrical industry, which set the stage for his future career.
Transitioning to a Manufacturer’s Representative: After five years at Pico, Peter found his niche working as a manufacturer’s representative in the electrical side of lighting. One of his suppliers offered him a job, which allowed him to learn more about the technical aspects of the industry. Peter spent several years in this role, gaining valuable experience and building relationships with different customers across the region.
Starting His Own Company: Peter’s success as a manufacturer’s representative led him to start his own company. For 15 years, he worked independently, representing various manufacturers and developing a new clientele. His entrepreneurial spirit and deep industry knowledge helped him build a successful business, which further solidified his reputation in the electric power industry.
Joining Zeus Power Supplies: After running his own company, Peter received an offer he couldn’t refuse—to join a distributor that handled the Exelon companies. As the Director of Power Solutions, Peter led the electrical division and focused on developing products that were hard to find. It was during this time that Zeus Power Supplies was born, emerging from the need to source essential products like transformers and hardware more efficiently.
Why Zeus? Peter was drawn to Zeus Power Supplies because of the opportunity to expand on what he was already doing—sourcing high-quality products for the electric power industry. Zeus allowed him to bring in multinational companies and offer a wide range of products to meet the needs of customers. His deep understanding of the industry and hands-on approach have been instrumental in helping Zeus grow and succeed.
The Value of Experience: Peter’s extensive background in the electric utility industry has given him a unique perspective on what customers truly need. He understands the challenges of sourcing even the simplest items, like nuts and bolts, and is committed to providing solutions that add real value. His ability to find hard-to-source items with better lead times has made him an invaluable asset to Zeus Power Supplies.
